
Centred
in Gaucin, one of the most attractive Pueblos Blancos in the Sierrania de Ronda mountains
with views down to the Mediterranean and North Africa.
Gaucin village seems
to hang between El Hacho mountain in the west and the Castle of Eagles in the east.
Casa San Isidora is ideally located for a
variety of activities, particularly birdwatching, golf and watersports, as well as being
central to the Moorish towns of Sevilla, Cordoba, Ronda, Granada and Tarifa. Gaucin
in surrounded by some of the most splendid mountain scenery and national parks in
Andalucia. Beaches and coastal resorts are close and Morocco is only 45 minutes by
hydrofoil from Tarifa.
Gaucin village with a population of 2000,
contains several small friendly supermarkets, two banks, a medical centre, a range of
restaurants and bars, a pleasant swimming pool and tennis courts and a ruined Moorish
castle. Maqui interspersed with olive, cork, carob, sweet chestnut and fir trees
cover the immediate mountain slopes. Oranges, lemons and figs are cultivated on the
fincas in the river valleys. This varied habitat supports a wide range of animals,
birds and plants as well as providing excellent opportunities for a range of outdoor
activities and cultural pursuits.
